Publication Ethics – International Journal of Dental Sciences & Research

In all experimental and studies on human or animals, authors must state whether formal approval from an Institutional Review Board or Ethics Committee was obtained. In the absence of such committee, the Declaration of Helsinki guidelines must be followed and be clearly stated in the Methods section of the manuscript. All studies on human subjects must include a statement that the subjects gave informed consent. Patient anonymity should be preserved. Photographs need to be cropped to prevent human subjects being recognized. Experiments involving animals must be demonstrated to be ethically acceptable and should conform to national guidelines for animal usage in research. When reporting experiments on human subjects, Journal mandatorily needs a declaration stating whether the procedures followed were in accordance with the ethical standards as laid by the ICMR-Ethical Guidelines for Biomedical Research on Human Participants (Available at: http://icmr.nic.in/ethical_guidelines.pdf)/ its equivalent (example Helsinki Declaration, 2000) were followed or not. When reporting experiments on Animals CPCSEA Available at: http://icmr.nic.in/bioethics/final_cpcsea.pdf or http://envfor.nic.in/divisions/awd/cpcsea_laboratory.pdf or its equivalent is to be followed.
