Today’s business world, human resources are the biggest of the organization. In order to take benet of the competitive advantage of their human resource, it is important that their employees are happy and motivated in the organization. Salary and incentives are the biggest motivator for the employee to perform better. In this regard, present study focuses on insurance sector specially LIC India to examine the impact of compensation system of LIC India on the employee performance. It is found that there is association between level of employment and compensation practices. Further, regression analysis showed that there is a strong relationship between employee performance and compensation practices with respect to level of employment.
